The G.O.A.T. Mug
On my first night in the USA, December 11, 1997, my mom tucked me into a guest bed at a friend’s house on Long Island, NY and put on a VHS of Space Jam. Life would never be the same.
I don’t think I knew at the time that Jordan had played in the infamous Flu Game during the 1997 NBA Finals, where he put on an incredible performance despite feeling very poopy. I’m not sure if I even got to watch him play in any games during what would be his last season and last championship with the Chicago Bulls in 1997-1998, where he won pretty much every MVP trophy that existed.
All I knew was that I was watching someone so incredible that he could fly, and stretch his limbs, and talk to Bugs Bunny and it was all the best thing I had ever seen.
Michael Jordan is the Greatest Player Of All Time, because he changed so much of American culture (and Universe culture!) around basketball and sneakers and the media around it. All that while also being an unbelievable player with one million achievements.
These 10 mugs are dedicated to him and his legacy. It took me a long time to hand paint each one of those Jordan 1s, but it’s the least I could do to shout out MJs greatness.
Each of these 10 mugs is numbered on the bottom and features a tiny hand painted goat symbol on the raw clay. Each mug is unique in its shape, and illustrations may slightly vary.
Approximately 3.25” wide and 6” tall, contains about 22 fl oz. Microwave and dishwasher safe.
